The publication reports that according to California law, new parents can pick whether they want their child to take the surname of the mother, father or a combination of both.

However, the choice is permanent. So, the parent would need a court order to change the baby’s name. Khloé has since changed the baby’s surname to Thompson — Tatum Robert Thompson.

The Good American co-founder and NBA star welcomed Tatum in July 2022 via surrogate. The reality star and Tristan also have a five-year-old daughter named True together. While Tristan is also a father to Prince, who he shares with ex-girlfriend Jordan Craig and one-year-old Theo, who he shares with fitness trainer Maralee Nichols.
