Dr Nandipha is accused of helping Bester escape from Mangaung prison in May last year. She has been in prison since her arrest, and together with Bester, the pair attempted to escape and run from South African law enforcement. Dr Nandipha claims that her arrest was illegal and that she should have been informed of her deportation from Tanzania and given time before being arrested.

Her lawyer, international law advocate Anton Katz SC, has argued that the proper procedure was not followed. He contends that Dr Nandipha should not have been arrested without being notified of her deportation. The legal team is working tirelessly to prove Dr Nandipha’s arrest was illegal, and they are pushing for the charges against her to be dropped.

The case is still ongoing, and even the department of Home Affairs has been involved in proving that Dr Nandipha was legally arrested when she was brought back to South Africa, judgement will be handed down on Monday. The incident has left many in shock, as Dr Nandipha was not known to have any connections with criminals or unsavoury characters. Her reputation had always been impeccable, and her sudden arrest has left many questioning the South African justice system’s fairness.

The case against Dr Nandipha and Thabo Bester is still ongoing, and it’s unclear what the outcome will be. However, it’s worth noting that everyone is innocent until proven guilty, and the legal process will have to run its course to determine the truth.
