People tell you around the age of 31 that you’re no longer a child and that it’s time to ‘grow up’ and’settle down.’ When you turn 31, there are a lot of expectations and societal pressures about where your life should go. At 31, people want you to have a stable high-paying job, be married, engaged, or seriously dating, and be thinking about moving.
Of course, reality does not always meet expectations, particularly at these times. This generation is experiencing some of the most difficult economic times in history; dating is difficult, and owning a home has never been more expensive.
So, rather than focusing on what people should have done or accomplished at 31, I recommend that we focus on the fact that people have survived and thrived for thirty One years in this crazy world. It’s a significant achievement, especially for the seven South African female celebrities who turn 31 this year.
