Though our favourite shows would be extremely boring without the baddies, there are some villains that are so convincing that they give us sleepless nights and make us wanna trash our TV’s. Here is a list of the 5 most hated villains on South African TV right now…
The River:
Mohumi
Seputla Sebogodi who plays the role of Mohumi on The River hasn’t had a warm-welcome on The River. He re-appeared, managed to rock villain-favourite, Lindiwe’s life and even got his daughter; Tumi Mokoena. Though the actor was loved on Generations for his villainous role of Kenneth Mashaba, fans are not impressed with his role and want him gone ASAP!Scandal ETV:
Bohang
Scandal ETV is known for casting the most talented actors to play the villainous roles, from Dustbinman, Mthunzi and currently Bohang, played Thabo Malema. Malema is the latest actor who is trending and hated every evening because of his character, Bohang. Fans of the show are threatening to boycott it until he exits, just like they did Mthunzi.
Gomora:
Thati
Katlego Danke who’s always played the pretty, puffy and pink roles has been annoying for fans for her portrayal of Thati on Gomora. Though fans of the actress admit she’s talented, they just don’t think she’s as convincing as a villain as her previous roles she’s played.
Rhythm City:
Khulekani
Rhythm City’s Khulekani Ngobese has been unfairly compared to David Genaro since he debuted on the show. From the way he acts, his delivery, even to the way he walks. Though the actor received a SAFTA for his current role, fans preferred the actor to play a supporting actor and not be a lediang actor.
Here’s what one RC viewer tweeted about him:” Imagine watching Ngobese who can’t even act, the man keeps on looking at the camera, laughs like a hyena and chews like a rabbit, oh no I’d rather watch Idols extra”.
Uzalo:
Gabisile
Gabisile has been the most perplexing villain out of all the villains on this list, because she was introduced to viewers as a churchy, straight talking woman who wouldn’t hurt a fly. As soon as she started killing people like flies on the show, her days were numbered and she’s now exiting Uzalo.
This is what the actress said about her character: “You can end up losing your mind, one minute this is what your character is like, the other it is something else. But you know, there is no excuse, your job is to bring that character to life no matter what the script changes into.”
