Some of Mzansi’s wealthiest and most well-known individuals have maintained their financial success despite not speaking English or possessing a matric diploma. Even though education is essential for achieving success in life, some of our brightest stars continue to soar to new heights.
Many of our kids have had trouble finding work in Mzansi, even those with matric diplomas and even degrees. Several of our heroes, however, who lack matriculation, have yet achieved success. As a result of their efforts, some of them have accumulated huge wealth. They dress in the newest styles, drive expensive automobiles, and live in mansions. Despite their limited English proficiency and inability to complete high school, they have used their gift to create a good life for themselves. It is clear that working hard is worthwhile.
Some South Africans do not speak English as their first language, hence they do not speak it as well as they do in their home tongues.
1. Thuthuka Mthembu
The Zulu soap opera Uzalo on SABC 1 is where she is best known for playing “Nonka.” A few months ago, this 21-year-old was all over social media due to her inability to speak English.
After making a grammatical error in a Tweet, Thuthuka was accused of speaking poor English. She was forced to delete the tweet after being dragged to this point. Wow! Mzansi.
2. Babes Wodumo
The 27-year-old Gqom diva, well known for her song “Hololo,” was recently called out on social media for using poor English, but she couldn’t give a damn because her career comes first.
Babes Wodumo is a proud Zulu speaker and has stated unequivocally that she is not a native English speaker. She has also stated that she has never attended a prestigious private school, so she owes no one an English lesson. Fans supported her and recommended that people just leave her alone so that she can speak English as she pleases.
3. Sana Mchunu
She is most known for her role as “Zodwa” in the drama series Gomora on Mzansi Magic. We all agree that “Zodwa” is a total failure when it comes to English. Despite her attempts to hide it, “Zodwa” doesn’t seem to be a native English speaker and doesn’t speak it well.
The 44-year-old actress was raised in a low-income Soweto home and did not begin acting until much later in life. Since Sana fell pregnant as a teen, she has been unable to finish her schooling. After that, she discovered she had additional acting talent, which motivated her to pursue a career in the industry.
