MEET THE TOP TWO SOUTH AFRICAN CELEBRITIES WITH THE LONGEST MARRIAGES IN MZANSI

Intimate bonds are arduous. The “for better or worse” item, a toilet seat left up, and smudged makeup on the mirror are examples. Consider the millions of people who are always following you, photographing your every move, and treating you like a superstar simply because you are a star.

Nevertheless, many well-known couples have been together for years, and not for the sake of exposure.

Finding a spouse in the entertainment industry can be difficult, but a number of prominent couples have demonstrated that a successful marriage or devoted relationship is achievable.

It has been known for a long time that some celebrity power couples share an incredible love and devotion.

  1. Basetsana and Romeo Khumalo

Dating began in 1997.

marrying in the year 2000

The Khumalos are the most influential celebrity couple. As in any other sector, partnerships may and do end in the entertainment industry, but Basetsana Khumalo’s marriage to Romeo appears to have stood the test of time.

They have been married for 21 years, but they continue to find each other fascinating. She was 23 years old when they began dating, and three years later she wed Romeo.

It would be irresponsible of me not to mention Basetsana and Romeo Kumalo, one of South Africa’s most important couples. In addition to their lengthy marriage, we have learned a great deal from them throughout the years. Their connection is what many married couples seek to achieve.

Basetsana and Romeo have always made it clear that they respect and care for one another, as evidenced by their behavior in public.

Basetsana Khumalo celebrates anniversary

South African media personality Basetsana headed online to celebrate her anniversary with a heartwarming post dedicated to her husband Romeo Khumalo. The pair have been married for 23 years and are going as strong as ever.

Taking to Instagram, the former beauty queen celebrated their anniversary with a heartwarming post which reads:

“26 years of knowing you and loving you…feels just like yesterday.
23 years of being married to you. What a ride it has been, and I wouldn’t change anything. I would marry you again and again and again. I married my best friend, my confidant.

“Thank you for being my number 1 cheerleader and supporter. With you I feel safe, I know I am deeply loved and protected. Thank you for the blessing of our three amazing children, thank you for your devotion to us, thank you for being a great father.

‘We divorced in 2021’ says Yeye ex-wife Mpho Maboi

Sportscaster Mpho Maboi believes that she and former Kaizer Chief player Reneilwe “Yeye” Letsholonyane would still be together if they never got married.

‘MARRIAGE RUINS EVERYTHING’
Maboi revealed in an interview with 702’s Relebogile Mabotja this week that she and the soccer star got divorced in 2021 after two years of marriage.

Maboi adds that by the time Musa Khawula broke the story about their divorce in June 2022, they’d been divorced already.

The sports personality also reveals that marriage ruins everything and believes if she and Letsholonyane had never gotten married, they’d still be together.

“Marriage changes everything, it changes how people view you, the family view. The dynamics change.”

She also rubbished Khawula’s reports that she married for money and adds that black people don’t know love.

@karen84859045: “Nothing wrong with marriage, people decide to get married and enter marriage then turn around and blame everyone but each other. Marriage requires both of you to commit, create your own culture and expectations instead of following what others did or do, then blame marriage.”

@ThembzMpapele: “She realized on her Birthday, because Yeye did not buy the Gift she was expecting on her Birthday, it’s all about the bag.”

@Maureez_: “People honestly underestimate marriage as an institution… there’s no way you want to get married and still be the same, behave like you are a girlfriend and not align accordingly. As soon as you subscribe to lobola, it means you understand what’s expected of you.”

@Mopapa_2: “She should talk for herself and leave black people out of it. Marriage changes everything yes and that is reality. You just agreed to marriage while you were not ready for change. You were looking forward to the wedding day but not marriage life.”

@IzyizGold: “The problem was never marriage, it was the lobola, someone can’t pay lobola for you and you expect your life would still be the same. If lobola is paid then you should follow traditional rules, I guess that’s why some people opt for home affairs qha.”

Actor Siyabonga Shibe abandons his family

Actor Siyabonga Shibe has abandoned and blacklisted his family. The Sibongile & The Dlaminis star is said to have told his mother and his brothers that he wants nothing to do with them. The problem alleged started when a child came into his life and claimed that she is his long lost daughter. This is the same person who claimed Sfiso Ncwane was her father after he passed away.

His brother told ZiMoja that Siyabonga no longer buys food for their mother. “We don’t understand how Siyabonga got to this point. Our brother has stopped buying grocery for our mother. He told our mother he doesn’t want her from a bar of soap. We were trying to warn him about the alleged daughter but he decided to cut us off,” said Nathi, adding that Siyabonga has even sold his two cars and a house in Ridgeway, in the south of Johannesburg, to prove his love to his newly found daughter

“We don’t know that daughter. She first claimed that she was Sifiso Ncwane’s child and now she is claiming that she is Siya’s daughter. We don’t know her and we don’t want to be part of her life since she is taking away our brother. Siyabonga insulted our mom and told her that he doesn’t want her at his funeral in case he dies.
Siyabonga is no longer visiting at home and has since blocked us on all his numbers. He has even changed his phone to “tototo” (a non-smart phone) while his newly found daughter has an iPhone 14,” he said. According to a source, his colleagues are concerned because he is constantly asking for R10 for cigarettes. Attempts to get comment from Siyabonga proved unsuccessful.
