Good news for informal traders after the ANC made a resolution regarding scraping permit fees

There is some good news for those who operate as informal traders in South Africa.This was after the ANC reportedly made a resolution to scrap permit fees for the informal traders by their municipalities. The report highlighted that the move was aimed at promoting economic development and growth .This was one of the resolutions that was taken at the just ended 55th national conference of the ANC .

 

 

 
Mmamoloko Kubayi , who is the ANC’s chairperson for the economic transformation portfolio informed that scaping off permit fees was meant to assist the already disadvantaged members of the community. The proposal suggested that Municipalities had to remove all the payments of permits by informal traders, and for all the support to be rendered to them .

This comes at a time when most informal traders have reportedly been operating without valid permits in most of the metros such as the City of Johannesburg, Nelson Mandela Bay , and some parts of the country.

Mmamoloko Kubayi expressed concerns over the female vendors whose stock allegedly got confiscated by metro police on the streets.She described the act as being inhumane as the government can’t employ everyone.As a result, she said that it was the duty of the government to create a business environment for everyone, as not everyone could be employed.

It was added that the permits were not affordable and that it did not make sense for the government to take away the little money which the members of the public had . This decision t scrap payment of permits by informal traders is a welcome development.

There is high unemployment in the country of South Africa , and the only way for some people to earn a living is via informal trading.The creation of a free business environment will lessen the burden for the South African government.

On January 5, 2023, the dead body of 26-year-old Thobile Skhosana was found in a river in Khathazweni, outside of Hlogotlou. Thobile, who lives in Matsitsi Village near Groblersdal, was last seen at a New Year’s Eve party in Sehlakwane Village on December 31, 2022. The party was held on a local sports field. A 40-year-old man is said to have lured Thobile to a nearby bush, where he raped and killed her. The suspect has been caught and is facing murder and kidnapping charges.

 
 

 

 

 

This morning, the body of the deceased Thobile Vinolia Skhosana will be laid to rest in the village of Matsitsi, which is located within the Elias Motsoaledi Municipality and falls under the jurisdiction of the Sekhukhune District. This past Thursday morning, the body of a 26-year-old woman was discovered in some bushes, having been raped and then strangled to death. 

 

Last weekend, Skhosana was reported missing while she was at a party celebrating New Year’s Eve. Kgomotso Tiger Mogola, a guy in his forties who is suspected of killing an EFF member on the specified day, was detained by the police and given the name Kgomotso Tiger Mogola. Since she had already earned her Bachelor of Education degree, it was anticipated that she would graduate from UNISA this year and receive her diploma. 

 

 

At her funeral, economic freedom fighters were spotted in large numbers; they came in large numbers to send a proper good-bye to one of their own. All of them were wearing red, and the casket was also covered with a red EFF cloth. One of the people who were spotted there was the EFF Limpopo Provincial Leadership led by Chairperson Cmsr Tshilidzi Maraga, who was bidding farewell to Fighter. May her soul rest in peace. A black cloud of death hung over Zimbabwe after it emerged that the Senior Women’s National Cricket Team Assistant Coach Sinikiwe Mpofu had died. It was alleged that she just collapsed at her home in Masvingo and was pronounced dead at a medical facility. It is heartbreaking to note that her husband, who was the national cricket team’s Fielding Coach , the Chevrons , Shepherd Makunura, died on the 15th of December 2022.

 

 

 

The death of Sinikiwe came a few weeks after the death of her husband. It was hardly a month before she lost her husband Shepherd Makunura . This is a devastating development for the Zimbabweans who have to deal with the double tragedy that hit them in a space of a month . The cause of death was not informed , but it is devastating to lose a person’s life at such a young age .

It can be learnt from the death of Sinikiwe Mpofu how short and unpredictable life can be . She may have had some plans for the weekend or even beyond , but death has cut all those plans from being implemented. This is a clear lesson that life needs to be appreciated on a daily basis .

It should be learnt from this sad development that there is no guarantee for life for anyone. You may plan to do something in the next hour but fail to do so as a result of death or anything else. This is because life is unpredictable and is full of surprises .

South African provincial capital of Gauteng saw the murder of senzo meyiwa at the residence of his girlfriend in the Vosloorus suburb that October. The family suffered greatly as a result of his passing. Former Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalie Senzo Meyiwa was found dead, but no one has been arrested.
