A reality show that follows businessman Musa Mseleku and his four wives as they navigate a polygamous relationship, their family dynamic, staying true to tradition in a modern world and the sisterhood of the wives.

The Mseleku wives are slowly but surely showing their true colours. In the third season of this popular reality series about a man and his multiple wives, it’s become clear that his wives are not as fond of each other as we were lead to believe. Well, that’s apart from MaCele. Since season one, she’s made it quite clear that she has never been a fan of her fellow sister-wives.

In the third season, Musa Mseleku found himself juggling between keeping all four of his wives happy while still grappling with the challenge of mending his broken relationship with Sne, his eldest daughter.

Keeping his wives happy has proven to be a success so far. Remember when he bought brand-new Mercedes-Benz vehicles for all his wives? Now that’s what we call an expensive token of appreciation.

He also kept his promise to organise individual weddings for all the wives. (And yes, we’re confused as you are. We assumed all four weddings had already taken place, but that is not the case.)

MaCele and MaYeni were the first to celebrate their weddings

Although both ceremonies were a success, the weddings came with a bit of drama that saw MaCele expressing her disapproval of her sister-wives, MaKhumalo and Mangwabe.

So what happened?

During her wedding ceremony, MaCele felt that MaKhumalo and MaNgwabe had stepped out of line when both women came out of their houses to officially welcome her (MaCele) as a Mseleku bride.

According to traditional customs, when a bride enters her husband’s

NW education MEC says pupils will not be mass progressed to higher grades

School classroomPerformance will be the only measure when it comes to progressing to the next grade at North West schools next year, education MEC Mmaphefo Matsemela said on Sunday.

During a roadshow held in three North West districts to welcome the last cohort of pupils after the Covid-19 school break, Matsemela emphasised that pupils would progress to higher grades according to their performances.

She said this to diffuse any expectations that pupils would be mass progressed.

Matsemela said the department rolled out different intervention programmes.“All learners will be progressed to higher grades according to their performance. There will never be ‘pass one, pass all’. In all our schools, teaching and learning is the order of the day. The department is going the extra mile to ensure learners get assistance.

“We have introduced a ‘dial-a-tutor’ programme as an intervention programme to help learners. Schools have introduced differentiated timetables to ensure all learners receive learning and teaching. Schools have also introduced extra classes to catch up for the lost time,” said Matsemela.

Relieve tensionsTo lighten the mood, Matsemela led a Jerusalema dance challenge for pupils to loosen them up and relieve tensions since they didn’t participate in any extracurricular activities during the lockdown. The province has adopted this challenge for the remainder of the academic year to refresh pupils, department spokesperson Elias Malindi said.

So far, the MEC’s roadshow has monitored the Dr Ruth Segomotsi Mompati, Ngaka Modiri Molema and Bojanala districts and it is expected to visit the Dr Kenneth Kaunda district in the coming week.

Grade 12 pupils are expected to start their preliminary examinations on Monday, 14 September. The preliminaries will assist pupils to evaluate their performance, Malindi added.
