General Sqhaza on UzaloSouth African thespian and Uzalo actor Maviyo Judge Sosibo, who portrays General Sqhaza Mbhele in the SABC 1 soap opera, is pursuing his acting goals.

Judge Sosibo was raised in Ixopo, KwaZulu-Natal, and graduated from Isinamumva High School before enrolling at the Durban University of Technology to pursue a degree in arts and media. After graduating from college, Judge tried his luck as a ragga music composer after failing to land any acting roles. After a protracted and difficult procedure that was marked by long lines and numerous auditions, Judge Sosibo, who had previously grown dreadlocks, was selected for the Uzalo part.

Speaking about his recent success, Maviyo Judge Sosibo disclosed that having a part in the most popular serial opera on SABC 1 had a profound impact on his life.

“Becoming an actor has always been my desire, and to do so on such a vast platform is a blessing. It hasn’t been an easy route, but I persevered until I landed the General position. Since I began playing the Uzalo character, members of my community and family have begun to treat me with respect.

Maviyo expresses his hope that his newfound notoriety and respect will keep him humble and prevent him from developing springs beneath his feet and beginning to look down on people.

It’s a humbling experience to perform with well-known actors, and it shows other aspiring actors, both young and old, that it’s never too late.

The General character in Uzalo is MaDongwe’s boyfriend; the two first connected when the General rescued MaDongwe from a snake bite while on a tour. General is a tough character who served in the army. He upholds rigorous values, and his entry into the Xaba home will cause tensions. Njeza, Lily, and Nonka Xaba have begun to sense the General’s presence as he asserts a paternal authority. Has the General been successful in enforcing discipline on the Xaba kids despite anticipated pushback from the kids?

Judge Sosibo’s position as the General on the SABC 1 soap opera may soon come to an end, according to Uzalo teasers. Although favorably appreciated, his function will shortly be transferred to a nation at war.
