Buhlebendalo Mda born Buhlebendalo Mda in Soweto is a gender activist and also the only female member of the Acapella group The Soil. The group has won several awards and is recognized on the international scene.


The group was formed over a decade ago during her high school days. Buhle has always been a music lover and also loves the attention it brings. And the group is an important piece in her life puzzle and for Buhle, it is her second home. She has gone around the world to showcase her talent and representing her country South Africa to the world with the group.

Apart from taking home several awards in South Africa and abroad, she has several highlights including appearing on big stages.

The singer recently revealed that social media was not a mirror of real life and that there was a need for discussions about what that world had become.

Don’t see social media as real life. For me social media is a space where we can share whatever we need to share about whatever is happening around us but what you see on social media not real, she said.
