South African media personality, Pearl Thusi, has given fans a glimpse at her high school days in her latest Instagram post on Friday, 26 June 2020.

The actress, who attended Pinetown Girls’ High School, showcased a picture clearly taken on Picture Day.

Although her beauty was evident from her early years, Pearl couldn’t help but acknowledge her skinny eyebrows.

She captioned the post with, “Thank God my brows survived this abuse… What trash trend did you fall into back in your day? Represent your high school in the comments!”Pearl’s fans quickly commented on the post sharing their own disastrous beauty techniques, although the consensus was that the global star was always able to rock any trend – no matter how bad it was!

As the country continues to grapple with femicide and gender-based violence, veteran actress Linda Sebezo encourages mothers to be friends with their daughters and create a platform for them to speak freely.

The Lockdown star told TshisaLIVE that when parents are aware of their children’s relationship, it’s easier for them to identify any potential danger at an early stage.She added that the world has changed, and parents are now burying their children instead of their children burying them.“My heart bleeds every morning when I hear on the news that there’s another women who is found dead. Silence also contributes to the killing of women, when they give their abusive partners a second chance that result into the brutal killings. When you get a klap from your partner it’s a sign to walk away and not to give them second chances”.The sad part is that our children die at a young age, and because of the rights that they have, they don’t listen to their parents when they are reprimanded. Back in the days we wouldn’t do anything without our parents concern”.

The government must take quick action against gender-based violence.

This is the call from gospel star Fikile Mlomo, who said she was lucky to be alive after the abuse she experienced in her previous relationships.

“Seeing women being violated and killed in Mzansi sparks fear in me. I ask myself how I survived. I’m scared,” said Fikile.

The Phendula singer previously revealed that her former boyfriend abused her, leading to the loss of her four-month-old baby.“I got into a relationship with an older guy when I was 15,” she said.

“He beat me up for no reason when he was drunk.

“I felt I couldn’t act against him because I loved him and he provided.“One day he beat me up and I ended up in hospital. I left the relationship when I couldn’t take the beatings anymore.”

Last year she revealed that her former fiance was abusing her emotionally.

She said she wanted the government to act in favour of abused women.

“We live in fear. We must not blame a woman if she doesn’t report the abuse,” said Fikile.

“She may be scared that if the law fails her, the abuser will kill her.

“I’m glad that I always found the courage to walk away in the end.”

Fikile said she’s scared of relationships because of her previous experiences.

One of the cutest interactions on Twitter took place on Thursday night after Thickleeyonce confessed she has a huge crush on one half of the Blaq Diamond duo, Ndumiso Mdletshe, and proceeded to shoot her shot.

Thickleeyonce could no longer keep her crush to herself and decided to share with her followers.
