It seemed a little bizarre to many that some musicians could not amass a single nomination at the awards, but their hit songs kept many South Africans on their feet this past festive season.

Many slammed the SAMA’s for not recognizing Master KG, whose hit song Jerusalema was a national anthem in December, and his music video has surpassed 30 million views on YouTube.

They also vented out their frustration on Khadzi’s snub, and said she also deserves a nod. Master KG responded to his snub and congratulated all the nominees and said he will continue to work hard until they recognize him.EFF’s Flo Shivambu replied to his tweet, and said awards ceremonies are not always recognizing talent and brilliance. He reckons that MasterKG has released so many anthems and very few artists in SA have achieved that, hence he also deserved a nomination.
