Well-known South African media personality Sonia Booth may be going through a messy divorce from her estranged husband Matthew Booth, but that has not stopped her from believing in love.The former model opened up to a local publication about the kind of man she is looking for.

 

 

 

“My type? A type that will love me unconditionally, the type who will understand my love language, the type who will respect me and support me in all I do. The type who will understand I have dreams to pursue and bucket lists to fulfil,” she said.

“Gaslighting can strip your dignity, self-worth and self-esteem. I had to do the work – mind, body, and soul. I had to strip myself bare, introspect and self-reflect. I started practising self-care daily and self-love became my core, my love language. I know I deserve better and I want nothing less.”

The 2001 Miss South Africa second princess dropped the bombshell in November 2022 on her social media accounts, sharing evidence to support her claims on her husband’s alleged cheating escapades.

According to Sonia, Booth had been using their joint bank account and her vehicle, which has a tracker in it, to spend quality time with Mthombeni-Moller. The two allegedly took a road trip to Empangeni in KwaZulu-Natal; they spent Valentine’s Day together and also had lunch dates. She also claimed that the ex-Bafana Bafana star baked a cheesecake cake, for his alleged girlfriend, on the eve of their son’s birthday that they thought they would feast on as a family.In response to the allegations, Booth released a statement claiming the allegations were “unfounded”. Mthombeni-Moller also denied the accusations in a court application seeking an order to compel Sonia to remove the allegedly defamatory statements from her social media accounts. However, Sonia won the case with costs.

“It was a win [with costs] for the so-called urgent interdict for me to remove my social media posts and to apologise publicly,” she says.

Last month Sonia revealed that her divorce from the father of her two boys is ongoing.

She revealed that Booth filed for divorce on 9 November 2022. Meanwhile, according to Sonia, her estranged husband’s current partner, Bongani Mthombeni-Moller, filed for divorce from Klaus Moller in February 2023. The Mollers’ divorce was finalised in November, she said.
